Brexit

From January 2021 England, Scotland and Wales are no longer part of the EU Customs Union. This means imports and exports between Great Britain and the EU require additional paperwork and customs clearances and duties, taxes and costs may occur when importing and exporting. If you are a regular importer to UK with duty and taxes to pay, you may find use in a deferment account, our customer service team will mention this to you when you approach them. Here at Iberia Impex we want to make importing and exporting easy so we offer a paperwork and customs clearance service where we will fill out forms for you after requesting required information, we will breakdown costs for you and insure your imports and exports meet all the new Brexit requirements. The Northern Irish protocol currently requires additional paperwork between GB and NI, and may change in the near future, we at Iberian Impex will ensure we are up to date on the requirements and will notify our clients of any changes as soon as they come into effect.

We understand there is currently a shortage of drivers in Great Britain, luckily we do not have a shortage of drivers so our services are not disrupted by this issue. Due to extra customs checks there may be a slight delay at ports but our tracking system offers minute by minute tracking and our customers service team will keep you informed of any changes.

Iberian Impex has an Economic Operators Registration and Identification number (EORI number) for moving goods, however if you are based in the UK you may require one too.

If you are based in the UK you’ll need your EORI number if you:

  • appoint someone to deal with customs for you and are ‘established’ in the country you’re importing to or exporting from

  • make customs declarations

  • use customs systems, such as the CHIEF system and the Import Control System Northern Ireland (ICS NI)

  • apply for a customs decision
